Shirley A. Lyons, age 63, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:00 A.M. on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Genesis Healthcare-Bryan Center. She was a graduate of Oak Hill (Indiana) High School. Shirley worked at Airway for 10 years and Trufast for 6 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier. Shirley loved to cook, collect recipes and pig figurines.
Shirley was born on January 31, 1955, in Bryan, the daughter of Clarence “Pete” and Leona Vernita (Impton) Shirkey. She married Bruce G. Lyons on March 14, 1998, in Montpelier and he survives.
Shirley is also survived by her sons, Bryan (Danielle) Martin, of Swayzee, Indiana and Isaac (Jennifer) Martin, of Bryan; grandchildren, Joey and John Martin, of Swayzee, Indiana and Lexi, Bryce and Cassidy Dietsch and Delia Martin, all of Bryan; sister, Alma (Denver) Thornburg; brother Lee (Sue) Shirkey and sister-in-law, Elva (Al) Cook, all of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Hannah Martin; brother Richard “Dick” Shirkey and sister, Carolyn Hanson.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at New Hope Community Church with Pastor David Nicholls officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
