The Bryan City Council and the Board of Public Affairs appear to have reached a compromise agreement on language regarding sick leave in the city employee handbook. After a 75-minute meeting, they agreed in principle to changes to the handbook, and the revised ordinance was signed by the council president and Mayor. The ordinance will take effect in 30 days. Previously, affected employees were entitled to 100 percent of the payout after 10 years of employment. The handbook adopted by council in December changes that timeframe to 15 years.
