Smallwood convicted in Williams County Common Pleas Court.

After a three-day bench trial, defendant Jochua A. Z. Smallwood, 31, was convicted Monday, December 4, by Williams County Common Pleas Court Judge J.T. Stelzer of multiple felony offenses of violence, including Attempted Murder, arising out of an incident that occurred on May 4, 2022. 

Smallwood was found guilty and convicted of all charges:
Attempted Murder, a first-degree felony
Felonious Assault, a second-degree felony
Domestic Violence, a third-degree felony
Abduction, a third-degree felony,
Intimidation, a first-degree misdemeanor, and
Five counts of Violating a Protection Order, felonies of the fifth degree 

Smallwood was also found to be a Repeat Violent Offender, as he has been convicted previously of second-degree felony felonious assault.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 21, 2023, at 9:45 a.m.
