Spencer L. Tiffany age 87, of Wauseon passed away Saturday February 1, 2014 at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. Prior to his retirement he had been the Administrator for the former Detwiler Manor in Wauseon for many years. He had a real gift for working with the elderly.
Mr. Tiffany was born in Nelson, Wisconsin on September 18, 1926 the son of the late Herbert O. and the late Marguerite (Sadden) Tiffany. He married the former Norma Myrdal and she survives. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon where he had been a pianist and organist. Mr. Tiffany was a graduate of both Nelson High School and the University of Wisconsin. He was also a member of the Wauseon F&AM, the Zenobia Shrine in Toledo and the Scottish Rite in Toledo where he had been a piano accompanist and had also received the M.S.A. Award for Distinguished Service. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He will be remembered for his piano entertainment at the surrounding Senior Centers and Nursing Homes.
Surviving besides his wife, Norma are sons; Blair A. (Debbie) Tiffany of Wabash, Indiana, John S. (Sonia) Tiffany of Wauseon, daughters; Susan Shore of Chrystal Lake, Illinois, Sandra (John) Penvose of Tampa, Florida and Lisa (Todd) Seiler of Montpelier. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and sisters; Evelyn Kaye of Pepin, Wisconsin, Janet Shanklin of Holmen, Wisconsin, Delores Wise of Hastings, Minnesota and Marguerite (Lynn) Iverson of Nelson, Wisconsin. Preceding him in death besides his parents were brothers Herbert, William, Pat, Scott and sister Alice Rothe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday February 6, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon with Pastor Keith Huntsinger and Pastor Jenn Herrmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00pm where there will be a Masonic Prayer service at 7:00pm.
