The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury crash involving one commercial vehicle. The crash occurred on Friday, October 3rd at approximately 5:12 p.m., on southbound US23 at the I475
interchange, in Sylvania Township, Lucas County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Freightliner tractor-trailer combination was traveling southbound on US23, attempting to negotiate a curve to I475 eastbound. While negotiating the curve, the Freightliner, operated by 39 year old Carl Turnier, of Kansas City (MO), drove off the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail, overturned, and came to final rest on its side, blocking US23.
Turnier sustained minor injuries and was transported by Sylvania EMS to
Toledo Hospital.
