Steuben County Rapist Sentenced. Stetler Gets 15 Years

A Steuben County man was sen­tenced on Mon­day to 15 years in prison on a felony rape charge. Orig­i­nally, 54 year old Frank Stetler of the Angola area, had been charged with four felony counts in con­nec­tion with a sex­ual assault that hap­pened last New Years Eve. Stetler was handed the time behind bars after hav­ing entered a plea agree­ment with Steuben County Pros­e­cu­tors back in August. He got off rel­a­tively easy. He could have been sen­tenced to as much as 40 years in prison. Stetler was charged with threat­en­ing, then tieing up and rap­ing a woman, who finally man­aged to escape and get her­self to Cameron Memo­r­ial Com­mu­nity Hospital.
