Sue C. Scranton, 87

Sue Carroll Carter Scranton passed away on October 15, 2024. Sue Scranton was born on December 22, 1936 to the late Clarence Carter and Ethel Mildred McDaniel Carter in Jonesboro, Indiana. She was the eldest of five children. Sue graduated from Farmer High School in 1954. She married Millard “Mike” Scranton on July 3, 1954, and they had 4 children.

Sue enjoyed reading and creating a loving home for her children and grandchildren. Sue and her daughter Loretta owned an upholstery business in Hicksville named Upholstery Unlimited. Later in life, she loved traveling the country with her husband. Sue and her family had a Relay For Life team in Hicksville for many years. They celebrated cancer survivors and honored loved ones through selling homemade cinnamon rolls and bread.

Sue will be greatly missed by her daughter, Karen (Greg) Byce of Munith, MI; son, Michael (Toni) Scranton and son-in-law, Phil Cleland of Hicksville, OH; son, Brian (Katy) Scranton of Wabash, IN; and her 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike; sisters, Sharron Planck, Billie Stull, and Jacqueline Carter; brother, Lynn Carter; daughter, Loretta Cleland; daughter in laws, Holly Scranton and Penny Scranton; and granddaughter, Rachel Scranton.

Visitation for Sue will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. Funeral services begin immediately following with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Sue will be laid to rest at Lost Creek Cemetery following the funeral service.

Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
