Theodore V. “Vernon” Reynolds, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Fremont, Indiana, died at 7:20 P.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where he was a resident, after an extended illness. Mr. Reynolds was a graduate of Elyria High School and served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by U.S. Steel in Lorain, Ohio, as a crane operator, retiring with thirty-seven years of service. He then went on to work at the Vermillion Hardware for the next thirteen years. He enjoyed going flea marketing and collecting and had a huge collection of Match Box and Hot Wheels and also enjoyed collecting miniature clocks.
Theodore V. “Vernon” Reynolds was born on June 13, 1929, in Elryia, Ohio, the son of Theodore Milton and Mildred Calista (Mackin) Reynolds. He married his wife of 65 years, Marabelle J. Atherton, on September 10, 1950, in Elyria and she survives.
Survivors also include one son, Barry (Mary) Reynolds, of Bryan, two grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Reynolds, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Ashley (Lowell) Smith, of Auburn, Indiana, and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Becky Ploughe officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489. Visitation will held in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2014.
