Thomas James Fleming, 81

Thomas James Fleming, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 2:23 P.M. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after an extended illness. Mr. Fleming was a 1951 graduate of Archbold (Ohio) High School and served with the United States Navy Seabees from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Guam and the Phillippines building air fields. He was employed by The Aro Corporation as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2000 with forty-four years of service. He was a member of Bryan American Legion Post # 284 and marched with American Legion for many years in the parades, was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, was a volunteer at the Thrift Store in Bryan, coached Minor League and Little League baseball and girls softball, and was a long-time blood donor, giving over ten gallons. Mr. Fleming was a hard worker who held a job of some kind from the early age of eleven until he retired. He enjoyed remodeling and working in his shop building car models and match stick models and was known to be able to fix anything.

Thomas James Fleming was born on February 20, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Harold and Edith (Michael) Fleming. He married Dee Ann Stambaugh on December 12, 1958, in Bryan, and she survives.

Survivors also include his children, Tony (Margaret) Fleming, of Stow, Massachusetts, Mark (Rachelle) Fleming, of Butler, Indiana, Julie (Thomas) Juillard and Lisa (Brian) Michel, both of Bryan; eleven grandchildren, Emily and Kelly Fleming, Melissa, Krista, Amber and Kyle Fleming, Heather (Mike) Wulff, Joey (Jordana)Walker, Brittany Walker, Tara Michel, and Josh Michel; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Jake and Josh Juillard; one stepgreat-grandson, Jassek Juillard.; six great-grandchildren, Leigha Clark, Landen Fleming, Jayden and Lilly Walker, Claire Wulff and Adelynn Walker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan American Legion Post #284.

Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
