Thomas “Tuit” M. Spangler, 62, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at his residence. Tom was born August 20, 1959, the son of the late Robert R. and Betty M. (Steel) Spangler. He was a 1978 graduate of Fairview High School and attended Four County Career Center. Tom worked in the maintenance department at Spangler Candy Company for 43 years. He was a member of the Sherwood VFW Post 5665. In his younger years, Tom enjoyed racing late model cars at Bryan Motor Speedway. He spent many hours working on automobile and tractor engines. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are three children, Jeffery Spangler of Sherwood, Ohio, Jennifer Spangler of Montpelier, Ohio, and Jarica (Adam) Collins of Defiance, Ohio; five grandchildren and one on the way, Adam Spangler, Landon Ridgway, Kyndal Spangler, Gracien Williams, and Aidan Collins; sister, Bobbi Spangler of Defiance, Ohio; four brothers, Rick (Pam) Spangler of Bryan, Ohio; Steve Spangler of Edgerton, Ohio; David Spangler of Bryan, Ohio, and Brian (Sherril) Spangler of Brookville, Ohio. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Spangler Ross; granddaughter, Maria Spangler.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Sherwood VFW Post 5665, 115 Cedar Street, Sherwood, Ohio. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.
