Three Vehicle Crash Saturday With Injuries

A three-vehicle pileup Sat­ur­day morn­ing on Ohio 281, in Rich­land Town­ship, Defi­ance County, has left one man crit­i­cally injured.

The Ohio State High­way Patrol says it hap­pened at 3:45 a.m. Sat­ur­day, when 35 year old Ronald Nash of Napoleon, was west­bound on Ohio 281 in a Ford Tau­rus around mile post 281, when his vehi­cle ran into the rear of a west­bound Ford van dri­ven by 41 year old Richard Bishop of Mont­pe­lier.

Nash’s vehi­cle then slid into the other west­bound lane, and slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer dri­ven by 60 year old Nicholas Stef­fel of Sher­wood.

Nash was taken to Defi­ance Mercy Hos­pi­tal, then flown by air ambu­lance to Parkview Hos­pi­tal in Fort Wayne.

Bishop was taken to Defi­ance Mercy Hos­pi­tal, where he was treated and released.

Stef­fel was treated at the scene.

The crash remains under inves­ti­ga­tion today.
