Tie Vote In Hicksville Mayoral Matter

A tie vote by Defi­ance County’s board of elec­tions on the cer­ti­fi­ca­tion of a Hicksville may­oral can­di­date will now send the mat­ter on up to a higher author­ity. The board voted 2–2 in decid­ing whether David Schoo­ley should be cer­ti­fied as a Demo­c­ra­tic can­di­date in Novem­ber for the Hicksville mayor’s race. The tie vote will now leave the deci­sion with Ohio Sec­re­tary of State Jon Husted. The board has 14 days to send all the per­ti­nent infor­ma­tion to Husted’s office.
