Two Defiance County bridges with big traffic impacts are going in different directions.The U.S. 127 bridge south of Sherwood – closed for the past year – reopened Friday morning after a brief ceremony by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) while the Ohio 15 bridge over the Tiffin River in Brunersburg northwest of Defiance shut down Monday for approximately 100 days. Miller Bros. Const., Inc., Archbold, completed the 127 bridge over the Maumee River under a contracted cost of $6.8 million. The crossing closed in early May last year followed by the subsequent replacement project that included building new piers in the river.
