TWO HURT IN INTERSTATE ACCIDENT

Two construction workers were badly hurt when the hydraulic lift they were inside was hit by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 69.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the workers were on the lift underneath a bridge over the highway near Angola when it was hit.

The semi driver told police he had slowed in the construction zone when the truck’s passenger side hit the lift’s bucket.

The impact knocked worker Brandon Morris onto the roadway, while another worker, Ted Cook, remained inside the bucket.

Both were taken to a hospital in serious to critical condition.

Both men work for Pioneer Associates of Albion.
