Vehicle Break-Ins Becoming A Big Issue In Steuben County

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Depart­ment reports that they are cur­rently inves­ti­gat­ing nearly 17 reports of thefts from vehi­cles. There have also been a num­ber of reports of thefts from vehi­cles in Fre­mont that are being seper­ately inves­ti­gated by Fre­mont Police, all of which have occurred over the past two weeks, and all dur­ing the dark of night. Now, law enforce­ment all over the area warns folks to make sure they don’t leave any valu­ables in their vehi­cles, espe­cially in plain sight, and to make sure that vehi­cles are locked up when left out­side overnight. Police say you should also make sure that your garage door is locked too.
