The administration of the village of Montpelier have met with representatives of Archbold Refuse Service to identify and clear up issues confusing some members of the community regarding trash collection.
Residents were unsure whether, for instance, a box spring and mattress counted as one item or two. Language in the village’s agreement with ARS indicated resident could set out one large item per month for collection.
To rectify the issue, the agreement now reads that ARS will remove up to three large items per month, village officials said at Monday’s regular council meeting.
In a related move, council approve a spring large trash drop-off sponsored by ARS and Earth Friendly Recyclers for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at the Montpelier Street Department, 1010 E. Main St. Residents must be signed up with ARS to leave large trash items.
