Virginia Harter, 83

Virginia L. Harter, age 83, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Genisis Healthcare in Bryan. She was a member of the Bryan First Church of Christ and had worked as a press operator at Ohio Art Company. Born on June 2, 1930, near Hicksville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Harriet Thompson. She graduated from Ayresville High School in 1948. Virginia married Lythwin G. Harter on November 28, 1950, in Bryan and he preceded her in death in 1996.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Bill and Ron Harter, both of Bryan, grandchildren, Gregg Harter, of Bryan, and Abbie (Adam) Singer, of Defiance, and a great-granddaughter, Aubrie Singer, of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and three sisters.

A memorial service for Virginia L. Harter will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Adkins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Metz Cemetery in Metz, Indiana, at a later date.

Gifts in memory of Virginia may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Dementia Unit of Genesis Healthcare in Bryan.
