Walter E. Loucks, 78

Walter E. Loucks, 78, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Walter was born March 28, 1943, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Walter L. and June L. (Helsel) Loucks.  He was a 1961 graduate of Hicksville High School.  Walter married Rosella M. Wilks on June 9, 1963 in Coburn Corners Church of Christ, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 2004.  He worked as a factory worker and group leader at International Harvester, Weatherhead and Philips.  Walter also ran several Community Discount store locations, and owned and operated Loucks Amusements Arcades, where he was known as the “Quarter Man”.  Walter enjoyed flying remote controlled airplanes, and was apart of several clubs.  He also enjoyed fishing and camping at Indian Lakes Campground, where he just rented a lot for his 45th year.  Walter will be remembered for his big laugh, love of others, and for being a jokester.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Ryan) Bennett of Hicksville, Ohio; three grandchildren, David Gordon of Toledo, Ohio, Kami Bennett of Defiance, Ohio, and Jay Bennett of Hicksville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.  Walter was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Rosella; daughter, Sherry Spencer; and two sisters, Nellie Wroblewski and Sandra Yoder.

Visitation for Walter E. Loucks will be held Thursday, March 31 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  Funeral Services for Walter will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Eyers officiating.  Interment will follow in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday in the funeral home.
