In the fight against heroin, Wauseon Police will begin training how to administer Narcan, which reverses the effects of opioids. After training, officers will carry kits that include the dose, which is administered in the nose, in cases of suspected opiate overdoses. Chief Keith Torbet said most of the time, officers are first on scene, and those moments can mean the difference between life and death.
