Wayne North, 84 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Van Wert Manor, where he was recently admitted. Wayne was born July 22, 1933 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of the late Clifford W. and Polly A. (Woods) North. Wayne married his wife on April 18, 1955 in Maginot, Carnce, France. Wayne was a Korean and Viet Nam Era veteran serving in the military for 24 years. After his service, Wayne worked as a supervisor of dietary at a mental health facility and a courier. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the NRA. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and his dog, Bo.
Surviving is his wife; four daughters, Desiree (Darrell) Bye of Allen Texas, Judy Gutierrez of Bryan, Ohio, Polly (Alan) Conrad of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina and Arleen (Paul) McCusty of Ney; 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jean Annee North; granddaughter, Jean Annee Strong; two sisters, Mary Jefferies and Doris Goshorn.
Private graveside services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 in West Jefferson Cemetery with Minister Darrell Bye officiating. Arrangements by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Defiance or Williams County.
