Weldon D. Ebersole, 87, of Pioneer, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning March 10th at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on March 11, 1928 in Fayette, Ohio to Earl H. and Ethel L. (Randall) Ebersole. Weldon attended Fayette Schools. On February 19, 1949 he married Irene A. Burkholder in Tedrow, Ohio and she preceded him in death.
Weldon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a farmer for his entire life and he also worked as a precision grinder at General Broach in Morenci, Michigan for 27 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Sally (Robert) King of Waldron, Michigan; one son, Sidney (Emily) Ebersole of Pioneer, Ohio; three grandchildren, Russell (Sasha) King, Grace Ebersole and Will Ebersole all of Pioneer; three great grandchildren, Makinzy, Kaiden and Hazel King all of Pioneer; sister-in-law, Phylis Burkholder of Wauseon, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Weldon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Irene A. Ebersole, one sister, Rowena Kuhn, and one brother, Lavoyd “Bud” Ebersole.
A time to receive friends for Weldon will be held on Thursday March 17, 2016 from 2-6 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. A memorial service will follow at 6pm at the funeral home with Reverend David Tilly to officiate. There will be a private interment at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williams County E.M.S. or the donor’s choice.
