Willa Dean Herman, age 80, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Auburn Village in Auburn, Indiana, where she was a resident. Mrs. Herman was a 1955 graduate of Stryker High School and had been employed by Air-Way Manufacturing in Edgerton prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and the Rosary Altar Society and was past president of the Butler Eagles #2733 Auxiliary in Butler, Indiana. She was also a longtime EMT with Williams County Emergency Medical Services Medic 1.
Willa Dean Herman was born on September 11, 1937, in Defiance County, Ohio, the daughter of Willard H. and Dorothy (Garber) Rowan. She married Paul G. Herman on June 22, 1957, in Edgerton, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2006.
Survivors include four sons, Timothy, Jerry and Louis (Mindi) Herman, all of Edgerton, and Joseph (Janice) Herman, of Montpelier, Ohio; three daughters, Therese (Eric) Carlson, of Butler, Indiana, Barbara (Kim) Carlson, of Edgerton, and Jennifer (Dean) Lorentz, of Sandusky, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Herman, of Edgerton. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Herman; a grandson, Blade Herman; and three sisters, Donna Schweitzer, Darlene Walters and Linda Lulfs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with a scripture service to be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Edgerton.
