William H. Young, 82

William “Bill” H. Young, age 82, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Bill was a veteran of the US Air Force serving as a photo systems repairman from 1961-1965. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Bryan American Legion Post 284. Bill was an Engineer Manager. He worked at Aro Corporation for 29 years prior to retiring. He then worked at NEMCO and finally retired from Martin Sprocket & Gear. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the summers and spending time in Arizona and Las Vegas in the winters. He liked playing cards, golfing, visiting antique shops and garage sales.

William H. Young was born on April 11, 1942, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Paul W. and Wilma M. (Scheiber) Young. He married Charlene H. Lemons on October 15, 1960 in Bryan and she preceded him in death 5 days earlier, on Wednesday, August 16, 2024.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Christine (Roger) Haver, of Defiance, Shelly (Lou Mangano) Young, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Bobbianne (Tim) Brown, of Edon; son, Rob (Jessica) Young, of Bryan; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren with one on the way and a sister, Cheryl (Bob) Loyd, of Bryan. Preceding him in death were his father, Paul Young; mother and stepfather, Wilma and Howard “Bud” Beavers; wife, Charlene and sister, Cindy A. Beavers.

Visitation for Charlene and Bill will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00am-12:00pm at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation with Pastor Steve Rath officiating. Burial will follow at Shiffler Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the Bryan American Legion/VFW Combined Honor Detail.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Bryan American Legion Post 284.
