William Wieland, 72

William J. Wieland, 72 years, of Bryan, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 in the emergency room of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.  Bill was born November 8, 1942 in Evansport, Ohio, the son of the late John L. and Grace M. (Henning) Wieland.  He was a 1961 graduate of Stryker High School.  Bill was a veteran serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.  Bill married Janis J. Miller on July 4, 1966 in Mishawaka, Indiana, and she survives.  Bill worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Winzeler Stamping in Montpelier for 21 years, retiring in 2008.  He had also worked for Ohio Art, N & N Metal Stamping, Napoleon Spring and Robinair.  Bill and Janis enjoyed traveling, especially by motorcycle.  Their travels took them to 49 out of the 50 United States and all the provinces and territories in Canada except Nunavut to which there is no access road.  He also enjoyed eating ice cream and his six cookies for breakfast.  But what he enjoyed most of all was attending his grandchildren’s sporting and academic events.

Surviving is his wife, Janis J. Wieland of Bryan; three children, Cynthia Kaye (Rick) Seaman of Edon, Todd William Wieland of Bryan and Wesley John Wieland also of Bryan; five grandchildren, Allison Seaman, Tyler Seaman, Brooke Wieland, Conor Wieland and Ethan Riter; one brother, Calvin John (Margaret) Wieland of Bryan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lloyd J. Wieland and one sister, Mabel M. McBride.

Memorial services for William J. Wieland will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses, 11532 County Road K, Montpelier with Timothy Henricks officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Kingdom Hall.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.
