Zella Mae Goodyke, 87 years of Bryan, and formerly of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Hillside Country Living, rural Bryan. Zella was born June 9, 1927 in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and Carma (Cox) Mattison. She was a 1945 graduate of Bryan High School. Zella married Bruce Yarlott in 1945, and he passed away in 1948. She then married Ed Schang in 1949. After an amicable divorce, Zella married Maurice Goodyke on March 3, 1973, and he preceded her in death in December 2000. Zella was a secretary for PIMA Community College in Tucson, Arizona for 20 years. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Zella enjoyed reading and traveling.
Surviving are her three children, Vickie (Ralph) Barbee of Ney, Ohio, David B. (Brenda) Yarlott of South Portland, Maine and Gregory (Kathy) Schang of Tucson, Arizona; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, all three of her husbands, one son, Bradford Earl Schang and one sister, Marcella Gray.
Visitation for Zella Mae Goodyke will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Gray, her nephew, officiating. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery. Ney, Ohio.
