Zildred “Zee” Corene (Brinck) Breininger, 82 years of Farmer, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Zee was born September 21, 1939, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Gladys (Conine) Brinck. Zee was a 1957 graduate of Hicksville High School. She married Henry (Hank) R Breininger on May 6, 1966. He proceeded her in death on August 10, 2021, after a courageous but short battle with lung cancer. Zee graduated from International Business college and Dale Carnegie leadership training. She was an executive secretary at I & M Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The job she held dearest and loved the most was being a mother to four children and being a grandmother. She immediately opened her heart to loving Hank’s children and a year later they welcomed a baby girl. She loved her children equally. Zee was a happy, sweet, gentle, kind, loving and giving spirit. She and Hank were active members of the Hicksville Church of Christ for 55 years. Zee had an unsurpassed passion for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which she demonstrated every moment of every day. On a daily basis, Zee’s commitment was “The Great Commission” by sharing the Gospel. Her wish is that her family, friends and those acquaintances she has met along the way will join her and Hank in Heaven for a grand reunion. In addition to her bright smile and glowing personality she was very frugal. She enjoyed sewing and could repair about anything in order to save money. Of the many memories, her grandchildren loved grandma’s “red tapioca”! As the grandchildren grew, Zee graduated to being a caregiver to many lovely elderly people. Her hobbies included stopping at garage sales and bargain shopping as she was ALWAYS thinking of other people during her “treasure hunts”.
She demonstrated her “Warrior Spirit” during her recovery from a severe stroke in 2019 which required around the clock care. In 2020 she suffered a broken hip. Hank was her main caregiver along with their daughter Melanie. They had several other caregivers whom Zee dearly loved and was so grateful.
Surviving are her four children, Melanie (Jeff) Lehman of Montpelier, Ohio, Mark (Kelly) Breininger of Bryan, Ohio, Jim (Lori) Breininger of Bryan, Ohio and Jill (Tom) Weihl of Marietta, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jeff & Adam Roseberry, Andy Weihl, Staci Wagner, Heather Koerner, Sarah Breininger, Kaitlyn Blevins, Olivia Breininger and one adopted granddaughter Elizabeth Gaston; 19 great-grandchildren.
