9/11 Remembrance planned in Defiance.

For Thursday’s 9/11 remembrance in Defiance, two speakers, one a former state representative and a current state representative will speak. They will commemorate the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks when hijacked American planes were rammed into the Twin Towers at New York City’s World Trade Center and into Washington D.C.’s Pentagon building on Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony will get underway promptly at 9 a.m. in front of the city police and fire departments in the 300 block of Perry Street with Mayor Mike McCann welcoming everyone. The Pledge of Allegiance will follow along with an invocation by Rev. Ron Monteith of First Baptist Church at 9:10 a.m.
