Steuben County woman has trial date set for stabbing husband

A Steuben County woman charged with felony battery stabbing her husband last month may plead insanity, according to her lawyer. 56-year-old Deborah Swager allegedly stabbed her husband Timothy in the back with a hunting knife during a fight on January 16th, according to the Sheriff’s Department. She reportedly told them she was scared to be hit in twice in the face with his closed fist. She is out of jail on bond. Her next court appearance is May 9th for a pre-trial conference. Her trial is scheduled for October 19th.
