In Montpelier, new construction will begin on April 18th. Main Street will be closed for about two months, between Monroe and Platt streets. Crews will excavate down about a foot and a half, backfill the street with material designed to handle heavy truck traffic and then repave Main St. The sidewalks will remain open along the major thoroughfare. Local traffic will be re-routed, though the official route has not yet been determined. Residents who want to know more can attend a public hearing on April 4th at the fire hall at 107 S. Monroe St. at 7 p.m.
