Retired Montpelier Police Chief Jeff Lehman testified Wednesday before the Ohio House of Representatives’ Education Committee in favor of House Bill 8.
If signed into law, the bill would give all school districts in Ohio the option of training and arming employees, and would protect districts from lawsuits if anyone is injured by an employee during an active killer response.
Laws currently on the books allow school boards to authorize concealed carry on their campuses, but House Bill 8 would ease liability concerns associated with granting such permission.
