Cadet remains in critical after shooting range misfire

The cadet who was shot during the Northwest State Law Enforcement Academy training remains in critical condition at a Toledo hospital. The shooting happened when a cadet was trying to clean his weapon. The Henry County Sheriff was quoted in the Bryan Times as saying when the cadet sat down with the .9mm handgun, it went off, hitting another cadet. The sheriff’s investigation is ongoing and they are hoping to talk to the victim soon. They’ve not released their names.
