Bryan schools get rid of Spring Break for longer Easter vacation

Big changes are coming for the Bryan schools. The Bryan City Board of Education approved a 2016-17 district calendar that eliminates spring break and combines it with Easter for an extended break. They also decided on starting the school year much later, September 13th, with the final day of June 6th, 2017. The Board had to consider construction of the new 6-12 building and the superintendent says the extra week at Easter will give students more time to prepare for state testing.
