Communications tower is non-compliant to today’s regulations

A recent engineering study on a communications tower owned by Paulding County shows the tower doesn’t comply with wind-speed and ice build-up standards.
The issue was discovered by one of the tower’s users, which wanted add equipment and be sure the tower could handle it. A study by a structural engineering company determined that the tower doesn’t meet current regulations. The Sheriff Jason Landers told the Bryan Times that they’ve closed off the roadway and going to get a second opinion.
The tower is located on the Paulding County Fairgrounds on Fairground Drive.
