Defiance teen admits robbery, assault in Diehl Park

A Defiance man who pleaded guilty to robbery case that ended in a mistrial for a co-defendant will be sentenced on July 6th. 18-year-old Ruben Perez admitted the robbery charge from an incident on October 18th in Diehl Park where a teenager was assaulted and robbed of his bike and shoes. Three other persons were charged, including Kasym Assaf, who’s trial ended in mistrial after certain evidence was introduced. He could face another indictment. Two additional 16-year-old Defiance males were each charged with delinquency by means of robbery and theft.
