Casinos in Toledo and 3 other cities paying huge taxes

It’s a lot of money. Ohio’s four casinos have paid a total of more than $1 billion in taxes to cities, counties, schools and state agencies since opening in 2012 and 2013. We have new numbers from the Ohio Department of Taxation from the recent quarterly distribution for the three months that ended in June. The $66.6 million paid by the casinos in Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati brought the total to about $1.054 billion. That 66 million is less than the previous quarter of 71 million, the highest quarterly taxes since the casinos opened. It seems that Ohio casino and racino revenues took a dive in June, according to monthly reports.
