The autopsy done on the Williams County man killed by law enforcement was shot once in the back, according to the Toledo Blade. 59-year-old John Anderson died from a single gunshot wound. The bullet went through his torso and did not exit, according to Williams County coroner Dr. Kevin Park. The shooting happened after two sheriff’s deputies conducted a well-being check at Mr. Anderson’s home outside Montpelier on June 16th. Officers say Anderson pointed a firearm toward them, and an officer whom authorities have refused to identify shot the man about 20 minutes later. Dr. Park said he will speak to the state investigator and review officers’ statements before issuing a final ruling in the case.
