Storm damages school construction site

Defiance City Board of Education held a special meeting Monday afternoon, learning about storm damage at the grades 6-12 construction site.
Superintendent Mike Struble told the board that a strong storm on last Wednesday evening damaged the Palmer Drive construction site. With concrete block walls going up, there was damage to a high school wall and a middle school wall, located in separate wings. He noted that the builders risk insurance agent was on the scene to assess the damage. He said the damaged areas are nearly all cleaned up and it would have set the workers back two weeks, but crews were already two to three weeks ahead of schedule so construction is still on time.
