Trump is the nominee, Cleveland escapes violence feared at RNC

In Cleveland, The Republican National Convention ended with Donald Trump accepting the party’s nomination for President last night. As for the numbers, only two dozen protestors were arrested and the violence that was feared didn’t materialize, much to the relief of city officials, police and much of the public who feared mass disruptions and violence. In some of the more interesting scenes, Indiana state troopers played ping pong with people in Cleveland downtown Public Square, three officers kicked a soccer ball with children and the city’s police chief joined demonstrators in a prayer circle one afternoon. The arrests came from a flag-burning by melee.
