Proposed roundabout in Defiance rejected by ODOT

The Defiance city administration’s attempt to secure grant funds for construction of a traffic roundabout at South Jefferson Avenue and Palmer Drive has been turned down by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). While Defiance mayor Mike McCann expressed disappointment about the decision he feels the roundabout would have been a very nice addition as an entry to the new school and they will reapply to try to get something in 2020. ODOT’s local programs manager Jeffrey Peyton recently informed city engineer Melinda Warner via letter that Defiance’s project was turned down.
