Hillsdale man sentenced in a child pornography case

A sentence has been handed down to a man in a child pornography case. Branch County Circuit Court officials say 43 year old Troy Van Aken of Hillsdale was sentenced to serve between 29 months and 4 years in prison for possession of child sexually abusive material. He was also given a concurrent sentence of 16 months to two years for attempted possession of child sexually abusive material. For pleading guilty to the two charges, six other related charges were dismissed. Van Aken was on parole when he was arrested by Union City Police in June.
