A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against a local man who already had been indicted following an incident on Defiance’s northside. 38 year old Joshua Wachtman of Seneca St., was indicted for aggravated robbery, felonious assault and inducing panic. Authorities allege that on Aug. 29 he possessed a handgun while attempting to commit a theft near the Short Stop Carryout on Defiance’s North Clinton Street. Although no one was injured as a result of the firearm being discharged during the incident, Defiance College, Defiance Junior High School and many local businesses were placed on lock-down.
