Defiance City Council considered legislation making some employee position changes to the finance department

Defiance City Council considered legislation making some employee position changes to the finance department during its Tuesday night meeting, and also presided as Mayor Mike McCann recognized the county’s long-time sheriff on his approaching retirement. An ordinance concerning the aforementioned changes was let lie along with an unrelated resolution because council had only five of seven members in attendance. The legislative items will return for second readings on Nov. 15. According to the ordinance, annual salaries for a finance clerk and two account supervisors will each increase to $49,290.
