Suspect arrested in Fort Wayne murder case

Indiana State Police say a 45-year-old male was found dead in his residence in the 100 block of East Third Avenue. Police identified a person of interest in the case. 20-year-old Branston Secrest led police on a short chase in Fort Wayne. He fled his vehicle and was captured after a short foot pursuit in the area of Harris Road on the city’s northwest side around 5:30 p-m. Tuesday night. He was later transported and incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail on a preliminary charge of murder. Secrest is currently being held without bond and is expected to be formally charged by the DeKalb County Prosecutor’s office later today.
