During a recent meeting, the Wauseon Exempted Village Schools Board of Education took a step toward asking voters to make the district’s income tax permanent. The first of two resolutions required to put the levy on the November ballot was approved during the board’s April meeting. This will include the amount to be generated and first asks the Ohio Department of Taxation to certify the proposed renewal of the 1.75% earned income continuous levy. If the present five-year 1.75% income tax is not extended or made permanent, it will expire on December 31, 2027.
