A Fremont man and his passenger escaped harm when their vehicle was struck by a train just east of here Saturday night. According to the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 11:05 p.m., a vehicle driven by Casey Lovell, 21, Fremont, was westbound on Fulton County Road D, west of County Road 20, went out of control on a curve. Troopers reported that the vehicle came to rest on the railroad tracks. Lovell and his passenger, Brandon Boehm, 21, Maumee, exited the vehicle before a westbound train struck it. No injuries were reported. Troopers reported that alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash.
