CCNO’s population was slightly down. That news highlighted Wednesday’s meeting of the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio.
CCNO Executive Director Jim Dennis said Wednesday’s inmate population stood at 570 or 89 percent. The population averaged 583 or 91 percent in April and stood at 593 or 93 percent in May. He noted that the population is slowing this month but the year still indicates an increasing trend.
Mr. Dennis said there is still room to place eligible participants on the electronic monitoring program. He said the program is not up to capacity with the actual count as of Wednesday at 107. He said area courts and probation officers are being encouraged to use the program to decrease the inmate population numbers.
