Bryan City Schools has fired a school bus driver following a Dec. 8 incident in which a 3-year-old student was left on a bus unattended for four hours. The decision to fire Victoria Rummel was announced Monday at January’s board of education meeting. Bryan City Schools Superintendent Diana Savage said the board had received evidence and support that documents and reasons that determination. She added the resolution states that the board of education terminates Mrs. Rummel’s employment for the following reasons: Mrs. Rummel engaged in inappropriate behavior on Dec. 8, 2016 when she failed to follow board protocol to properly inspect her bus at the end of a shift and as a result a student was left on the bus unattended.
