Three candidates seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy on Defiance City Council made presentations Tuesday night before council. The three prospects – Pete Schlosser, Benjamin Pierce and Dave Plant, presented their qualifications to council who later met in executive session to discuss the three and who will replace Jake Oberlin as Ward III’s councilman. A decision could be made by council’s next meeting on Jan. 24. Oberlin announced his resignation last month as he is moving outside the city limits. Each candidate made a pitch to council for the seat, which represents Defiance’s north side.
