Defiance College will host its 17th annual Empty Bowls event

Yesterday was the Super Bowl…coming up on Thursday, February 16, Defiance College will host its 17th annual “Empty Bowls” event 4:30-7 p.m. With substantial help from Bryan High School art teacher and DC alumnus Brandon Knott, the event is set to help those in need and will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 111 Elliot Road, Defiance. For the event, local restaurants and individuals each year concoct a variety of soups and breads to serve in ceramic bowls handmade by Knott as part of his business, “It’s Knott Pottery.” Attendees will get to keep their bowl. All proceeds from the event benefit the PATH Center, an emergency shelter operated by the Northwest Ohio Community Action Commission in Defiance. The shelter serves Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Van Wert and Williams counties.
