The county has taken the first step in a nearly $1 million improvement project for roadways and a bridge near the Ohio Turnpike plaza near West Unity. Williams County commissioners on Monday approved an agreement between the state and county to resurface sections of three county roads that service the Tiffin River Service Plaza. The roads to be resurfaced are County Road 34 and township roads 48 and 15, all of which service the plaza, at mile marker 20.8 on the turnpike. In addition, the project calls for replacing a bridge just north of the turnpike on Township Road M.50, just west of County Road 21N. Total cost of the project is estimated at $924,000, with $864,000 paid with state funds and the balance by the county.
